Our original kumiko shoji japanese wooden lamp is a four-sided frame with hardwood walnut, sapele, oak or cherry wood and interior panels of softwood lattice.
For the lattice components, straight-grained softwoods work best cedar or pine . “Kumiko” is the general term for the strips of wood that go into the lattice, as well as for the work itself.
For our table wooden lamp or floor wooden lamp kumiko shoji style we us only nature wood walnut, sapele, cherry or oak.
